Course Improvements

New Water Pump Station

Sun Valley Golf Course keeps improving! Not only have we striped in Zoysia sod in the Front 9 Fairways, but now, we have installed a new water pump station, which was completed during the winter of 2010.

This new water pump station, costing the owners $70,000, pumps 800 gallons per minute, which is enough to irrigate the entire course in one night! It has gauges to monitor the water flow, leaks, pressure, and water usage. Additionally, the station houses flow tronics as the computer control center, two 40 horsepower motors along with a new 460 volt variable frequency drive. These features allow control of the water flow, ramping the water up and down when needed. Also, a new isolation valve was installed to stop water flow from the lake. With all these features, this pump station is state of the art.

What this means for our golfers:

The new water pump station is more efficient. It improves overall turf conditions and allows Sun Valley Golf Course to consistently have greener and healthier turf. This makes the course more fun to play throughout the year! Hope to see you soon!
